'Piano Man' Story Code '66419' by Ed Scharlach

10th November 1985: Sam leaps into lounge lizard extraordinaire Chuck Danner, tickling the ivories in an obscure nightclub in New Mexico. Al is confused when Ziggy is unable to find any record of Chuck, but when Chuck’s former music partner and ex-girlfriend Lorraine turns up, having finally found him again after a three-year search, it becomes clear that for some reason Chuck has changed his name. It soon becomes clear that others are looking for Chuck, and their intentions are not friendly: the club’s barman and his girlfriend are tragically killed in an explosion after Sam lends them Chuck’s car, and then a hitman turns up and opens fire on Sam. As Sam and Lorraine flee for their lives, Al reveals that Chuck is on the run from the mob after witnessing a murder…
